Animal Welfare Club (AWC)
The Animal Welfare Club, operating under the auspices of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS) and guided by a Senior Tutor, is a dedicated entity committed to promoting animal welfare and advancing the veterinary profession in Pakistan. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, the organization seeks to foster a culture of compassion, empathy, and respect towards animals, recognizing them as sentient beings deserving of dignity and protection.
Mission Statement
To inform importance and ideas regarding animal welfare were initiated in ancient civilizations and exist in many religions and culture today as a guiding philosophy for legislation and regulations, animal welfare attempts to mitigate the suffering of human controlled animals and to ensure a minimum standard of living condition followed by suitable treatment.Aims and Objectives
AWC believes that nonhuman animals should be treated well, even if we are using and commodifying them and seeks,
- To improve the treatment and their well-being.
- To provide an opportunity to prevent acts of cruelty and abuse.
- To provide disease prevention and appropriate veterinary care.
- To raise awareness about proper care and treatment of animals through educational initiatives, workshops, and informational campaigns.
- To support research initiatives aimed at improving the understanding of animal behaviour, health and animal welfare.
