Biography
His specific interest is in small animal medicine and surgery to diagnose different diseases and surgical intervention in serve cases. During his PhD, he worked as a veterinary doctor in Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. He won German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship in 2013. His doctoral dissertation is a proteomics study to analyze canine synovial fluid and serum to develop biomarkers in osteoarthritis diseases. He analyzed 17 different proteins expression in diseased SF compared to control samples. His long-standing interests have been in anatomy, surgery and proteomic analysis to analyze different biological molecules and their possible involvement in disease pathogenesis. Indeed, he has developed Apolipoprotein AI protein as a research tool biomarker to diagnose Canine osteoarthritis that could be used to assess therapeutic evaluation through proteomics analysis.
So, he worked with the following techniques such as Gel Electrophoresis, Bradford analysis, ELISA, Western Blotting and MALDI-MS. He completed his internship (1 year and 6 months) in Freie Universität Berlin pet center. Also, he worked as a veterinary doctor for the duration of 1 year and 1 month in German hospital. He learned ICU, Surgery, anatomy and Internal medicine. He knows very well CT technique, endoscopy, Fluoroscopy, ultrasound examination and Radiology as well. Moreover, he worked 2 years in small animal surgery (orthopedic and soft tissue surgery).
During his PhD, another topic was assigned by his Professor that was a retrospective study on slipped capital femoral epiphyseal fractures in cats and their surgical treatment with K-wires. The data analysis revealed significant findings that surgical repair of these non-traumatic fractures is the best option in comparison with conservative treatment.
Areas of Interest
At this point in time, he is applying his experience in the field of anatomy and surgery, one that will provide him with new tools to address the questions of disease diagnosis and treatment. His long-term plan is to perform animal orthopedic surgery and soft tissue surgery.
