Biography
Dr. Zahoor Ul Hassan is working as Associate Professor of Pathology at the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur. Previously, he was working as Post-Doctoral researcher in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, Qatar University. He holds Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) as his bachelor degree and then Veterinary Pathology as Master and PhD degree. He has been teaching at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels in the various veterinary institutes for about 7 years. He has been engaged in teaching Veterinary Pathology, histopathology, oncology, clinical pathology and related subjects in the field of animal sciences.
Along with teaching, he established his research career in the field of food and feed mycology, mycotoxins and their toxic effects in avian and mammalian species. Occurrence of toxigenic fungi, their morphological and molecular identification, exploration of toxigenic genes and mycotoxins producing potential of fungi has been major area of his interest. In addition, the residual transmission of mycotoxins in the animal products (milk, meat, eggs and other dairy products) are included in his research area. Conducting research at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland, he was able to develop a novel click-chemistry based method for the localization of tagged-molecular in different tissue.
He has presented his research work at national and international forums and published in peer reviewed international journals. So far, he has published more than 50 research article and one book chapter (h index 13). Based on his research profile he won several awards including Research Productivity Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan.
