Biography

Dr. Rais Ahmed, is Assistant Professor (BPS-19) in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur–Pakistan. He has completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) in 2008 and M. Phil Microbiology in 2013 from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad–Pakistan. Dr. Rais has earned his PhD in Microbiology in 2018 from Department of Microbiology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, with distinction to visit Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, U.S.A.
In his Doctorate studies, he was engaged in international funded project entitled as “Spatial Ecology and epidemiology of Soil-borne Human and animal Bacterial pathogens and their public health significance in Pakistan” in collaboration with Penn State University, USA & University Diagnostic Lab. (UDL), University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore Pakistan. He has worked on molecular characterization of soil borne Brucella species in districts of Punjab, Pakistan. He was also engaged in the project “Brucellosis in Pakistan” an international project in collaboration with Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute, Germany.
Dr. Rais has presented 6 scientific research articles in national/international conferences. His research interest areas are Immunology and Molecular Biology. He published 3 research articles in PhD research in good impact factor journals.
