Biography

Dr. Shaukat Hussain Munawar is serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Bio-Sciences, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, Pakistan. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) and M.Phil. from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and earned his PhD in Pharmacology from Al-Nafees Medical College, Isra University, Islamabad, in 2016.
His doctoral research focused on the pharmacokinetic behaviour of marbofloxacin in domestic ruminants and the application of advanced PK/PD modelling and simulation to rationalize dosage regimens. His research profile spans clinical pharmacology, molecular pharmacology, toxicology, ethnopharmacology, and antibiotic dose optimization, with particular emphasis on evidence-based pharmacotherapeutic strategies to help reduce bacterial resistance.
He is actively engaged in teaching and research at CUVAS and contributes to undergraduate instruction, postgraduate mentoring, and the advancement of pharmacology and toxicology research. His scholarly work reflects sustained interest in veterinary and biomedical pharmacology, including PK/PD modelling, medicinal plant pharmacology, and translational experimental studies.

Teaching and Supervision

Dr. Shaukat Hussain Munawar is engaged in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision in pharmacology and toxicology. He contributes to academic instruction, student mentoring, and research training at CUVAS, with special emphasis on clinical pharmacology, antibiotic dose optimization, and experimental pharmacology.
