Biography:
Dr. Umair Younas, is Assistant Professor and working as the Head of Department in the Department of Livestock Management, Faculty of Animal Production and Technology (FAPT), Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur (CUVAS, South-Punjab), Pakistan. He has completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree in 2007, M.Phil. (Livestock Management) in 2010 from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, (UVAS, Lahore). He has been awarded with various scholarship program throughout his professional career and got certificate of excellence from UVAS. Having expertise in dairy production and heat stress management, he completed his Ph.D. (Livestock Management) studies from UVAS, Lahore, as a HEC Indigenous Scholarship under HEC Scholarship Program. Dr. Umair Younas was also awarded with merit laptop from Ex-CM Hamza Shahbaz and Ex-VC/Meritorious professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha in "UVAS-Ph.D. topper category" as a part of Punjab Government initiatives for public sector universities.
Dr. Umair Younas worked as Sabbatical in University of Florida (USA; 2014) under HEC program “International Research Support Initiative Program (IRSIP)” to conduct various advance research trials on heat stress. He is certified from University of Florida (USA) on “Pain Recognition and Alleviation in Laboratory Animals” on the “Animal Care and Use Course”. Dr. Umair Younas has officially visited PTC+ institute (The Netherlands, Europe) and got training on "Milk Processing and Dairy Farm Management". In his area of interest, he has also been awarded a research project from Higher Education Commission (HEC) as Principal Investigator. He also worked deputy director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and In-charge Daycare Center and successfully fetched funds from Punjab government. He has more than twelve years of teaching and research experience and currently working on bridging the gap between academia, industry and farmers.
