Social & Allied Sciences
The Department of Social & Allied Sciences was established in 2019 and provides foundational courses to students across different degree programmes at the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS). The department supports students in developing academic, communication, analytical and professional skills.
The department teaches a wide range of subjects including Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, English, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology and Sociology. As the university introduces new academic programmes, the department continues to expand its teaching and academic activities.
The department also promotes student development through activities such as essay writing, calligraphy, poster making, Bait-Bazi, Qiraat and Naat competitions. Through its Literary Society and collaboration with other departments, the department combines academic learning with co-curricular activities that help students broaden their knowledge and skills. Future academic plans include postgraduate programmes in Islamic Studies, English and Statistics, along with language and Applied Linguistics programmes.
