Department of Social & Allied Sciences
The Department of Social & Allied Sciences was established in 2019 and provides foundational courses to students across various degree programmes at the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS). The Department supports students in developing academic, communication, analytical and professional skills alongside their core areas of study.
The Department offers courses in Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, English, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology and Sociology. These subjects strengthen students' academic foundations and provide essential knowledge and skills required for successful university education and professional development.
The Department also promotes co-curricular and literary activities through essay writing, calligraphy, poster making, Bait-Bazi, Qiraat and Naat competitions. Through the Literary Society and collaboration with other departments and institutions, students are encouraged to develop confidence, creativity, communication skills and broader perspectives.
The Department aims to further strengthen its academic and research activities through postgraduate programmes in areas such as Islamic Studies, English and Statistics, along with opportunities in Applied Linguistics and language studies. It remains committed to providing quality education and developing well-rounded graduates with strong academic and professional capabilities.

We aim to prepare students with strong academic knowledge, practical skills and professional competence to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.
We believe that effective healthcare education requires a balance of theoretical knowledge, practical training and professional development. Students are encouraged to strengthen their analytical, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills through classroom learning, laboratory practice and academic activities.
The Faculty provides education and training in areas including Medical Laboratory Technology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Pharmacy. Through modern teaching approaches, practical laboratory experience and research-oriented learning, students develop the skills required for healthcare institutions, diagnostic laboratories, pharmaceutical services, nutrition and other related professional fields.
Our mission is to produce competent, ethical and skilled healthcare professionals who can contribute effectively to patient care, disease prevention, health promotion and scientific research. We also encourage innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and research to address emerging healthcare challenges at regional and national levels.
