Established under the CUVAS Act 2018, our university stands as a beacon of development specifically tailored to empower and transform the livestock economy of Southern Punjab and beyond. Pakistan’s economic landscape is profoundly anchored in agriculture, which contributes a vital 23.4% to our national GDP. Within this framework, the livestock sector acts as an economic powerhouse, accounting for an impressive 62.4% of agricultural value-added and 14.6% of the overall GDP. About more than 8 million rural families are driving 35 – 40% of their total income. Because Pakistan's livestock industry plays a fundamental role in the country's survival, contributing significantly to rural livelihoods and national output, the necessity of a university entirely dedicated to its growth and modernization is of significance importance.
