Introduction

 


Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology was established in 2018 with the aim to generate and disseminate scientific knowledge and preparing students to fill the gap by qualified manpower in the field of veterinary and biological sciences. The expansion of the Department and graduate programs in the areas of modern pharmacology including Neuropharmacology, Enthnopharmacology, Molecular Pharmacology, Toxicology and Biochemical Pharmacology is expected to place the Department among high research ranking at the University.
The major academic aims of the Department are to facilitate Basic and Applied Research, educate under graduate, postgraduate and professional students in various disciplines and provide academic excellence. Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology will produce a large number of M. Phil and PhD graduates in the near future. The Department is composed of highly competent primary faculty, research faculty, graduate students and technical support staff. MPhil/PhD training in Pharmacology will provide prospective postgraduates with the requisite expertise in the discipline and the core concepts and techniques required for basic and clinical research. Most notably, it facilitates the development of independent investigators.
The program provides students with a solid foundation through coursework, research, and
opportunities to develop communication and presentation skills. To improve the quality of education and practical skills of the students, the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is going to start Post graduate programs.
