Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar earned his PhD Paleontology in 2005 from the Department of Zoology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. After that he served COMSATS University Islamabad campus for more than 13 years as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Meteorology. Introduced the subject of Biometeorology for the first time in Pakistan and started research on Dengue Dynamics (i-e an integrated approach on Climate, Urbanization and Dengue spread in Pakistan). On these aspects my PhD student Dr. Bushra Khalid completed her PhD in 2015 and received Gro Brundtland Award in February 2016 while working towards the issues of sustainable development and equitable health systems with my Co-authorship. In Dec. 2018, I joined CUVAS as a Professor, Zoology and progressed the teaching and research in Paleontology, Biometeorology and Geo-Spatial Modeling of Desertification in Cholistan area. Till date I supervised 100+ publications and supervised more than 50 students with the participation of 15 International Editorial Boards
