Biography

Syed Zahid Ali Shah is a Professional Veterinarian and he acquired his basic DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) Degree from University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore-Pakistan in year 2000. Dr. Shah enrolled for his MSc (Hons) degree from University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore and got his degree in the Discipline of Clinical Medicine & Surgery in year 2003. After completion of MSc (Hons) degree he worked at Punjpir Veterinary & Poultry Services Swabi as Livestock & Poultry diseases consultant till June 2004. From June 2004 to Nov 2004 Dr. Shah worked as Veterinary Research Officer at Veterinary Research Institute Peshawar-Pakistan. Dr. Shah worked as Quality Assurance Auditor and Hygiene Manager in United Kingdom Meat Processing Sector from Nov 2004 till June 2010. He worked as Lecturer Clinical Medicine from July 2010 to September 2013 and taught various Veterinary Medicine Courses to DVM Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students. Dr. Shah was Selected for Chinese Government Scholarship to Pursue his PhD studies at China Agricultural University Beijing in 2013. During his Stay at China Agricultural University Dr. Shah was part of a National Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy Group, where active Research Activities were conducted on Protein Misfolding Neurodegenerative Diseases including Prion, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases. Dr. Shah Received his PhD Degree in Veterinary Pathology & Public Health in July 2018.  He joined Cholistan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Bahawalpur as Assistant Professor Pathology in Nov 2018. Dr. Shah has published several research articles in prestigious international journals with high impact factor.  He is working as volunteer reviewer in different Prestigious Journals.

  • Development & Execution of In-Vivo Research in Protein Misfolding Disorders, Behavioural Analysis in Animal Model of Prion Diseases, Comparative Neurotherapeutics in Hamster Model of Prion Disease, Brain Excision Techniques from Laboratory Animals, Immunohistochemical Techniques, ELISA Techniques, Histopathological Techniques, Western Blotting, Fluorojade Staining Technique, Confocal Microscopy, Florescent Microscopy Techniques and Tumour Diagnosing Skills etc. Beside these skills Dr. Shah's previous job as lecture in veterinary medicine gave him a wealth of experience as a teacher and researcher on one hand but mentor for undergraduate student's seminars on other hand. He also worked in British fresh food processing and Sushi manufacturing zones where his main duties were to maintain the strictest hygiene and quality control standards according to the SOPs laid by British Retail Consortium.
