Biography

Dr. Asif Javaid is Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Nutrition, Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur–Pakistan. He has completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) Animal Husbandry in 2000 from Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Dr. Asif Javaid has earned M.Sc. (Hons.) in Animal Nutrition and PhD in Animal Nutrition from the Institute of Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. In his Doctorate studies, he has determined best ruminally degradable to undegradable protein ratio for production and reproduction of Buffaloes. He has written thirty-seven peer reviewed research papers in well-known scientific journals with good impact factor. Dr. Asif Javaid has also presented his scientific work in international conference. His research interest areas are impact of ruminally degradable and undegradable protein ratio on the production as well as reproduction of ruminants especially dairy animals and nutritional evaluation as well as utilization of non-conventional feedstuffs in ruminant animals. Dr. Asif Javaid has served as Lecturer and Assistant professor in the Institute of Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad for 6 years. He has also served as Teacher in Animal Nutrition, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan for one and half year. In private sector, Dr. Asif Javaid has served the commercial dairy and poultry industry of Pakistan as dairy nutritionist, dairy farm manager and research nutritionist for 6 years. He has served as Officer Incharge, Department of Animal Nutrition, CUVAS, Bahawalpur for four years. He also served as Project Director (B&W), CUVAS for one year. He served as Project Director of ADP Scheme “Establishment of Research Centre/Institute for Livestock Nutrition and Forage Research in Cholistan” for 3 years. He has served as Director, Dairy Animal Teaching and Research Center, CUVAS, Bahawalpur from July 9, 2023 to April 29, 2025. He has also worked as Hostel Warden from November 28, 2023 to April 29, 2026.
Presently he is working as Director, Institute for Livestock Nutrition and Forage Research, CUVAS, Bahawalpur.

TRAINIGS (National and International)  

  • Participated in three days training: In-Service Competency Enhancement Training for Young University Faculty, held at Cholistan University of Veterinary and animal Sciences, Bahawalpur on Jan 28-30, 2019.
  • Participated and successfully completed five days training on “Mapping of DVM curriculum for OIE compliance and integrated learning interventions” in-service training facility of advance veterinary education and professional development for veterinary professionals (IVPD) held at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore from May 07-11, 2018.
  • Got training in Dairy nutrition from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, Australia from March 19, 2009 to April 1, 2009.
  • Participated in the National Workshop on “Genetic Resources and Molecular Techniques in Livestock production” held on March 20-22, 2008 at Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics and Department of Livestock Management, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
  • Participated in the Workshop on “Scientific Presentations” held on August 6-11, 2007 at Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad
